Banketbakkerij Van der Linde

Sounds quite a mouthful but actually it means "Confectionery" van der Linde. This is a small pastry shop and ice cream parlor in the center of Amsterdam on the Nieuwendijk. With only 1 flavour they keep it simple but they make this amazingly well. Super soft, light, smooth ice cream. The family business was founded in 1937 by Gerrit Jan van der Linde. Father Jan van der Linde was arrested and imprisoned in 1943. He survived the concentration camp and continued the case again. He was in the sixties and was then succeeded by his son, Bob.  In 2009 the shop was run by the brothers Lars and Maikel van der Linde.
